craft corner: piggy goodie bags

last weekend, i helped my sister-in-law make Valentine’s Day bags for her class party. she found this super cute idea on Pinterest, and all she needed was a Cricut because hers doesn’t work. (Cricut, if you read this, she could use a new one!)

we did make some changes to the original project to make it easier for kids to do.

what you’ll need:

  • brown paper lunch bags
  • black scrapbook paper (x2)
  • white scrapbook paper (x2)
  • hot pink scrapbook paper (x2)
  • light pink scrapbook paper (x2)
  • red scrapbook paper (x2)
  • light pink felt (1.5 yds.)
  • glue stick
  • Cricut

you will need black, white, light pink and hot pink scrapbook paper, plus light pink felt.

set your Cricut to cut 1.5″ – 2″ black circles, 1.3″ – 1.5″ white circles, 1.5″ hot pink teardrops and 1.3″ light pink teardrops. (i’m not going to include instructions on how to use a Cricut because i’m not an expert.)

NOTE: we found teardrop clipart online and resized it to make the ears.

cut a medium-sized circle out of the felt for the nose, and draw on nostrils with a Sharpie. cut a large heart out of the red scrapbook paper and attach to the middle of the bag.

my sister-in-law’s class of little pigs! it only took them about 15 minutes to do.

even though Valentine’s Day is over, these goodie bags would be perfect for a barnyard-themed kids’ party. or save the idea for next year!

until next time,
